Finally our new Braidwood studios are finished and up and running – a print and painting studio and a workshop both housed in the renovated old slab shed at the back of the garden and a clean paper/stock/drawing room in the cottage.
The whole exercising of renovating and then moving home and studios has taken my partner Robert and me the better part of two years. But it’s been worth it. It’s a great location – across the road from John R Walker, who has to be one of this country’s best landscape painters and just down the road from Basil Hall, one of our finest printmakers. And there are plenty of other really terrific artists close by. Add to this the town itself with cafes, good food, markets and interesting shops and you have to ask yourself ‘How good does it get?’
Stand by for lots of exciting projects and new work!
